Registration is now open for college tours with the College
Tour Institute. The Florida Tour is open to 6th - 10th graders.
Students visit seven Florida Colleges. Mid Atlantic tour is open to
7th - 11th graders. They visit seven colleges throughout the Mid

We had an amazing
"BOOK FAIR FIESTA" this week.
I want to THANK Marlene Christophers and Lynne Coomes
for chairing our amazing book fair this year. You have dedicated many hours
to this event and it is greatly appreciated. We were able to provide our
library with some new and wonderful books. I would also like to THANK , Leslie Sanders and Joanna Bascuas
for agreeing to take on the book fair for next year. Good luck

Career Day Speakers Needed
Vineland K-8 Center will host our annual Career Day on
Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Career Day is designed
to expose students to various careers through interactive and/or hands-on
demonstrations. We would like to invite members of your company or
organization to participate in this event by serving as guest speakers who
will come to our school and share information, expertise, and job-related
personal experiences with our students. If you, or someone you know, might be
interested in participating in this event, please contact Mrs. Moreland,

be held at 8:45 a.m. in the Upper Academy cafeteria. At this meeting
we will select the nominating committee for next year's board, and we will

you that most children are due for their booster vaccine by the time they
are 11 years of age.
THEY WILL NOT BE PERMITTED INTO SCHOOL IN 7TH GRADE WITHOUT THIS VACCINE

Annual Day of the
The Day of the Young Child focuses on the mental, physical and emotional
development of children from birth to eight years of age. This event
includes many organizations throughout the community offering a variety of
early childhood education activities, demonstrations and information.

for Summer Camp 2014 for Gifted Grades K-8
Math, Arts, Science Achievement (MASA) is a summer program that provides
opportunities for high achieving and gifted students to be in a comfortable
and safe environment with like-minded peers to: comprehend, apply, explore,
analyze, discover, and evaluate concepts while motivating one another.
MASA will provide one scholarship for each grade span: K-2, 3-4, and 5-8.
When: Summer Camp 2014 will take place July 7, 2014 through July 11, 2014.

SoundScape Cinema Series
The SoundScape Cinema Series screens free films
on the 7,000-square-foot outdoor projection wall at the New World Center's ExoStage, corner of 17th Street and Washington Avenue,
Miami Beach. Movies usually are at 8 p.m. on Wednesdays but there are also
some films on Thursdays.
